Terms of Service

These terms cover the Language Toybox app and this website, including subscriptions bought here. Language Toybox is published by RYDAR LLC (“we”, “us”). By using Language Toybox or starting a subscription, you agree to these terms. If you have questions, email support@languagetoybox.com.

Who it’s for

Language Toybox is made for young children to play with a grown-up nearby. Purchases and account settings are for adults: you must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to buy a subscription or sign in on the web. You’re responsible for how the app is used on your family’s devices.

Your license to use the app

We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use Language Toybox for your household’s non-commercial use, under these terms. Please don’t copy, resell, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app or its artwork, audio or other content. All of it belongs to RYDAR LLC or the people we license it from.

Subscriptions bought through Apple

If you subscribe inside the app, Apple handles the payment, renewal and cancellation under its own terms, including Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Manage or cancel those subscriptions in your Apple account settings. Refunds for Apple purchases are handled by Apple.

Subscriptions bought on our website

Free trial. New web subscriptions start with a 7-day free trial. You’ll add a payment method to start the trial, but you won’t be charged during it. If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts and you’ll be charged the price you chose. Free trials are for new subscribers, one per person or household.

Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or yearly depending on the plan you chose, at the price shown when you subscribed (currently $3.99 per month or $34.99 per year, in US dollars, plus any applicable taxes). Each renewal is charged to your payment method on file until you cancel. If a promo code applies, the discount lasts as described when you used it.

Cancelling. You can cancel anytime at languagetoybox.com/manage (sign in with the email you subscribed with), or by emailing us. Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep access until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, or until your trial ends.

Price changes. If we ever change the price, we’ll let you know by email before it applies to you, so you have time to cancel.

Refunds. Charges are generally non-refundable, except where the law requires otherwise. If you think you were charged by mistake, email us and we’ll look into it.

Failed payments. If a renewal payment doesn’t go through, we may try again. If it still fails, your access may pause until the payment is updated.

Payments. Web payments are processed by Stripe. We don’t see or store your full card details.

Signing in with your email

Web subscriptions are linked to the email you used to subscribe. You sign in to the app with that email and a one-time code. Keep access to that email address, and use your subscription for your own household’s devices only.

Fair use

Please don’t misuse Language Toybox or this website, for example by trying to get around payments or the grown-up check, disrupting the service, or using it for anything unlawful. We may suspend access if someone does.

Changes to the app

We keep improving Language Toybox, so worlds, words and features may change over time. We may occasionally need to pause or stop part of the service. If we ever stop offering a paid web subscription, we’ll tell you and stop future charges.

No guarantees

We work hard to make Language Toybox calm, accurate and reliable, but it’s provided “as is”. We can’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or that your child will reach particular language results. It isn’t a substitute for a grown-up’s supervision.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, RYDAR LLC isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim about Language Toybox is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be waived.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, USA, except where the consumer laws of the place you live say otherwise.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time and will show the new date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects a paid subscription, we’ll let subscribers know by email before it takes effect.
